Helloooo Bathing Suit Season!
Seeing I am always late for everything, I was hoping to hit the snooze button a little longer! I leave for the beach in 4 days if the oil spill does not reach the shore of Alabama, it has already made it's way to Dauphin Island. I know I should keep up with eating healthy and being fit at all times of the year (and for the most part I do) but it's HARD!
I actually LOVE eating healthy. I love most fruits and vegetables and enjoy seafood, and meats that are grilled. I also like working out. I lift weights, enjoy time on the elliptical, and run outside and would love to run stadiums. One would think I had a rockin body but one would think wrong! No, I have to thank genetics and my overall lifestyle. I have said before that I am an athlete, I always have been and God willing, I always will be. I may always be an athlete but my days of running about ten or twelve miles and playing back to back tennis matches might be fading into the old memory box! As age is creeping like the crypt keeper, I slowly am realizing the body I had just six or eight years ago is now just in a picture.
I do see how keeping in shape is important for your body but also mind. After a good run or sweat in the gym I have a clearer head. I feel so much better about myself and know that I am doing something for myself and looking out for my future health.
I am not one to look in the future but I can see certain things...or at least what I hope them to be. I can see myself hopefully still playing tennis and jogging in the mornings or late afternoons. I hope to find a significant other one day who enjoys being active and eating healthy as much as I do. I'm not sure If I want him to be a tennis player......he might get his feelings hurt when I beat him all the time. I also hope he isn't because I have a little of a temper and I am a little on the competitive side; I don't want to get beat all the time! I think it helps you stay active and eat well when others around you want to strive for that goal too!
